Our guest speaker, Ed Spire will present in plain-English. Ed will separate realistic concerns from hype, examine recent real-world examples where AI agents exceeded their boundaries, and look at current national and international efforts to regulate emerging technology.

We are f*cking livid about what happened to Jane Doe at Cornell University. So on October 8, we’re taking our rage to the streets. It starts with our organizing call where we'll lay out the plan and how to get plugged in.

On the call, you'll hear from Women's March and our partners at me too. International, FEMINIST, and Feminist Generation. We’ll discuss the plan to demand justice and accountability for Jane Doe and for every survivor on October 8th - survivors, feminists, and young people are calling for a national day of action to #StopSexualViolence.

We are done watching rapists be protected while survivors are punished. Cornell did it to Jane Doe, LSU did it to Kendall Francis, and abusers in power do it on every campus, in every courtroom, in every office, all the way up to the Oval Office.

From the frat house to the White House, we're taking them all down.

We will have snacks, water, a place to rest, and a place to use the restroom available for volunteers. We can also pick up anyone if you need a break or when you are wrapped up for the day, then you do not have to walk back to your car! I am really aiming to make canvassing more accessible for all of our volunteers, I know it can be hard work.

The Resistance Lab is a series of trainings that are developed specifically for this moment. We look at how non-violent movements around the world have responded to leaders who seize power in authoritarian ways and the most effective tools and tactics to utilize in these moments. We offer frameworks to understand this moment at home, and incorporate interactive conversation with others to help create community and build our resistance movement.

Developed with experts who have researched and studied democratic backsliding around the world as well as in the United States and the non-violent movements that have emerged to challenge those authoritarian leaders.

Our goals are to help people understand how democracies fall and the most effective resistance movements that have challenged authoritarians and dictators; to turn anger, fear and frustration into action in the short-term while also preparing for a coordinated resistance movement for the longer term; and to build community across the country that can help grow our movement.

At the end of the day, we want to get people strike-ready and street-ready and make sure we protect our people, our freedoms and our democracy.

This is a people-powered event where everything is free! Offered skills change every month, but usually include: brake light repair, bike repair, phone and tablet troubleshooting, fabric mending, zine tutorials, harm reduction supplies, a communal craft table, and anything else the community wants to offer. Snacks will be available for everyone.

Community Food Table: bring in-date, non-perishable food to share with a neighbor. Leftovers will be used for Solidarity Network's public meals or used to combat food insecurity.

Free Table: bring something to share with a neighbor. Item must be clean and in good enough condition to gift a friend. Any unclaimed items must be taken home with the person who brought it.

Send us a message if you want to share a skill, and we’ll get it added to the list. You can teach neighbors how to do something, or you can offer a service. If you’re interested in it, someone else probably is too!

This event is inside. Entrance to the building requires use of a ramp or stairs. There are all-gender bathrooms available.
